GPS accuracy in MyFieldHeroes typically lands within 5–10 meters outdoors and 15–20 meters in dense urban areas. Inside large buildings, accuracy can drop to 30–50 meters — which is why we combine GPS with geofencing, photo verification, and facial recognition instead of relying on GPS alone.
We’ve optimised location tracking aggressively. Battery impact is typically 6–10% over a full 9-hour shift, even with frequent check-ins and live tracking enabled. Employees can still use their phones normally for calls, messages, and other apps throughout the day.
The app detects when location services are disabled and flags the employee as “offline” on the live map. The manager sees this immediately. We also log the event so there’s a record of the attempt. Check-ins attempted with GPS disabled are rejected automatically.
No — and this is intentional. MyFieldHeroes only tracks location during the employee’s configured work hours, which you set per role or per team. Outside those hours, location tracking is disabled on the device. This protects employee privacy and keeps you compliant with Indian data protection norms.
